ESM REXEL-bmse-values Web-Service
The ESM REXEL-bmse-values web-service provides the results of the Best Matching Scenario Earthquake (BMSE) methodology for Italy (Paolucci et al., 2024). BMSE is a conventional earthquake defined by the Mw-R pairs producing a median ground motion best approaching the of MPS04-based Uniform Hazard Spectrum (UHS) of Italy (Barani et al., 2009) for structural periods from 0 to 2 s and return periods 475, 975, 2475 years.
A complete list of supported options and usage examples is available in the query-options webpage.
Feature Notes
- The output is given in terms of M range (i.e. min_magnitude, max_magnitude that are computed as ±0.5 units centered in the modal value), R range (i.e. min_distance_km, max_distance_km that are computed as ±10 km centered in the modal value) and the modal value of ε
- Only modal scenarios (i.e. standardized residual ε = 0) are provided
- Latitude and Longitude of sites outside Italy are invalid options
- The output data are provided in a JSON file
